

The “United Nations” project, by DJ Yutaka & LKT Pacific, brings together some of hip-hop’s most influential figures
• KRS-One (Lawrence “Kris” Parker): A South Bronx legend, KRS-One gained fame with Boogie Down Productions, delivering timeless tracks like “Sound of da Police” and “My Philosophy.” He is a vocal advocate for social justice, founding the Stop the Violence Movement and promoting veganism. • Zeebra (Hideyuki Yokoi): A pioneer in Japanese hip-hop, Zeebra was part of the group King Giddra before launching a solo career. His 1998 hit “Mr. Dynamite” became the first hip-hop song to break into Japan’s top 50 charts, and his album Based on a True Story sold 250,000 copies. Zeebra’s influence extends beyond music into fashion and street culture, making him a true cultural icon in Japan.
• Qbert (Richard Quitevis): A legendary turntablist and co-founder of Invisibl Skratch Piklz, Qbert is known for revolutionizing the art of turntablism. His innovative scratching techniques and multiple DMC World DJ Championship titles have made him a global icon in the DJ world, continuously pushing the boundaries of the craft.
• J.Rocc: A founding member of the Beat Junkies, J.Rocc is renowned for his dynamic mixing and ability to seamlessly blend genres such as funk, soul, and jazz into hip-hop. His solo projects and remixes highlight his versatility and creative prowess, solidifying his place as one of the top DJs in the industry.
• Rhettmatic: Also a member of the Beat Junkies, Rhettmatic is known for his technical precision and scratching skills. His mixes are notable for their intricate transitions and rare sample selections. His collaborations and contributions across the hip-hop world have cemented him as a master in his field.
• DJ Shortkut: A Bay Area legend, DJ Shortkut is a key figure in three iconic DJ collectives: Invisibl Skratch Piklz, Beat Junkies, and Triple Threat DJs. Known for his exceptional scratching and technical abilities, Shortkut has pioneered many foundational techniques in turntablism, inspiring generations of DJs worldwide.
DJ Yutaka is a prominent Japanese DJ who built his career performing in Japan’s top discos and clubs before moving to the United States in 1982. He became a key member of the Japanese Chapter of the hip-hop collective “Zulu Nation” and Ice-T’s Rhyme Syndicate.
In 1999, DJ Yutaka released United Nation, an album featuring legendary artists such as Guru, Mad Lion, Public Enemy, Ras Kass, B-Real, Ice T, Afrika Bambaataa, Melle Mel, Total, and Smooth B.
In addition to his production achievements, Yutaka is a pioneering engineer. In 1989, he designed the first CDJ for Pioneer and contributed to the development of DJ mixers and turntables for Vestax and Technics, leaving a lasting impact on DJ technology.
